The Rapture

Signs, billboards and preachers

Bark end of world schemes,

But really it has already begun.

As a child is born, so must it die.

Where-in lies the rapture,

Every day’s musical banality,

Until the shovel is put away,

Ignitions no longer catch,

And a token of yarn sways

In breezes catching earth’s

Languorous breath while

You are still here.

  1. Tom, That is beautiful. Those words are exactly what I needed today. Thank you for sharing your talent. (oh, and no, I wasn’t waiting for the rapture yesterday!) 🙂
